Gary first got in touch with me about a couple session up in the Highlands on the West Coast of Scotland during a road trip he was planning with his girlfriend Matilda. It sounded amazing, would I like to come along one day to take some photos of the both of them? As a Scotland elopement photographer I was definitely drawn into their plans and story.
A little twist then developed, Gary wanted to propose to Matilda during the shoot somewhere around Glencoe or Glen Etive in the Scottish Highlands. This meant a lot of secret squirrel hiding the flowers in the back of my car, and not breathing a word about rings or proposals or marriage. All I knew from Gary was that he would know when the time was right!
There is no shortage of beautiful backdrops between Rannoch Moor, Glencoe and Glen Etive, the landscape and scenery is stunning year round so I knew there was definitely the possibility of finding a beautiful backdrop to the proposal. Anyway I won’t spoil any more and let you see the photos of this amazing proposal session during their road trip. Telling a love story in this way is something that really creatively and on a human level resonates with me.
If you have a trip planned to Scotland or maybe Ireland and are thinking of having some very special photos taken, why not get in touch, you don’t have to be proposing but I’d love to hear about your plans!
