2016 has been wonderful year as a wedding photographer. Being able to combine my passion for travel, cultural education and photography is a true blessing, and any excuse to visit Italy is a good one. Being able to photograph a wedding in Italy is an even better excuse, so it’s been very exciting this year to be a Lake Orta Wedding Photographer!
Terri and Dave had organised their wedding on the shores of one of the Italian Lakes’ smaller lakes, Lake Orta (Lago di Orta) in the beautiful town of Orta San Giulio. Words cannot describe how picturesque this northern Italian town is. It attracts far less crowds than its more famous cousins like Lake Como and Lake Garda, but it is just pure magic with its old cobbled streets and genuine unspoilt nature. I have travelled to Italy a few times over the year and have picked up quite a bit of Italian, quite handy as an English destination wedding photographer!
Anyway, I’m sure Terri and Dave imagined a beautiful sunny wedding. After all, only a few of days before their wedding I was catching the sun in Menaggio, Como and Varese and enjoying the beautiful 30 degree heat. Then, the mother of all rainstorms came transforming the streets of Orta San Giulio. I don’t think it spoiled a thing, they enjoyed their day to the full and there are just photo opportunities in the rain you don’t get with sunshine. x
