I do love a wedding at Wiston House in Sussex and Rebecca and William had just the most gorgeous summer’s day wedding at this stunning estate in West Sussex. I love being booked as a Wiston House wedding photographer because it’s an exceptionally friendly and well run venue that really goes the extra mile for its couples. It was also lovely to have the wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s in Thakeham, a beautiful rural church in the Sussex weald. And the vicar there was just a class act, a real witty man who had a wonderful message in between having the church congregation in stitches.
The other great thing about being a Wiston House wedding photographer is the sheer grandeur of the surroundings with its epic Great Hall and the stunning grounds of which I have still not fully explored even though I have covered a number of weddings at Wiston House now! And the light that day was just perfect for my style of fine art wedding photography.
What I really liked about Rebecca and William’s day was how relaxed everything was, right from the bridal preparations right through to the swinging party at the end of the day, it was truly a joy to be at their wedding. With a wedding party full of character, humour, but also a great deal of heart, it meant there were no shortage of real genuine moments to capture right through the day. And you have to see the photos from the speeches, there were some really classic moments there.
The Grand Hall at Wiston House really is a sight to behold. I have seen this hall laid out a few different ways but each way has a real wow factor with its amazing frescos and the view looking down from the Minstrel’s gallery really have a wonderful view of how fresh and gorgeous Rebecca and William’s decor choices were.
