Whew! What a day Heather and Liam chose for their sun drenched seaside soiree!
It is true, you can’t book the weather, but I always keep my fingers crossed for my couples. And Heather and Liam chose a belter of a day, it got so hot that even I had to sip water quietly during the church ceremony!
I knew Heather and Liam’s wedding was going to be an occasion to remember, but what I didn’t expect was being able to remember it clear as day some three months later! On probably the hottest day of the year, the wonderful Heather and Liam got married at The Holy Family church in Lancing. From the off I was made so welcome and part of the day, in fact I had to keep focussed on the photography because otherwise I could have easily spent the day chatting to all the guests they were so wonderful to be with. It’s just as well I am addicted to taking photos, as that means I can’t help but take oodles of gorgeousness given half the chance.
After the wedding ceremony we headed to the ever classy and ever epitome of seaside venue, The Dome in Worthing. On the balcony the breeze fluttered and the whispering gallery in The Dome itself was just flush with light, it is always a privilege to be invited to a wedding and The Dome is a venue we are blessed with here in Worthing (also my hometown). There were many many emotional moments, but always with amazing humour and fun. I came away so touched from their wedding.
What I will remember most though was the folk band who really got the place jumping, announcing over the microphone that the cinema go-ers below had complained about the noise from all the raucous and fun dancing the evening reception entailed. I had an absolute whale of a time snapping all of the heartfelt and warm moments of the day. So Heather and Liam, dance your way through life together, you are truly blessed and I wish you and all your family and friends and a whole lotta love. Take it away, Sam!
We start the day in Worthing where Heather, her sister and mum had their hair done at Centrestage salon. (ps Centrestage, Thank you for the coffee and Maltesers! :))
I managed to stop taking photos of Heather and her stunning bridesmaids at her parent’s house to make my way to the Holy Family church in Lancing where I caught up with guests arriving and Liam.
From Lancing the wedding party moved on to The Dome in Worthing which overlooks the seafront. On a day like Heather and Liam’s there are few better places to be if you ask me.
We sneaked off for a few group photos in nearby Steyne Gardens, it was such as hot day so I made sure we were’t in the sun for too long!
The detailing inside The Dome was fabulous, I was totally in love with Heather and Liam’s choices from the gypsophila in jam jars, lace and hesian detailing, kraft card place names and the bare chairs with no latex covers was immensely refreshing. The candelabra centrepieces finished off the chic detailing really playing to The Dome’s period detailing.
The speeches were incredibly moving as well as downright hilarious at points. Such a roller coaster of emotion…
After the speeches everyone chilled out on The Dome’s balcony overlooking the gorgeous Worthing seafront. The perfect August evening!
We snuck off to Worthing’s glorious sun drenched beach and pier for some couple photos of just Heather and Liam together, it’s the perfect time of day both in terms of light, but also a chance for every couple to reflect on their day with each other. I think this is so important, it’s not about the rigour of photo after photo, but more like, wow you are married and just soak up the day, let it all wash over you and be madly in love!
Ok now if the first dances provoke tears, lumps in throats and goosepimples, I cannot be held responsible. However, the party that followed…. WOW!
